The following section of the website aims to be an information channel for those syndromes having related symptoms of deafness and blindness.
The records and the articles have been translated and/or adapted from scientific releases for an easier understanding of readers such as families, medical staff and deaf trainers, all of which operate with people affected by the illness.
The Institute for the Deaf of Turin hosts a large number of people affected by the syndrome, the aim and priority being to learn increasingly about its medical, scientific and educational implications so as to improve teaching and educational skills. The Institute is also pleased to share with anyone interested the information and data collected, of course including the experiences gained through the decades by the personnel.
The issues under discussion below cannot replace in any circumstance the medical diagnosis and reports. However, being today increasingly hard to collect information in Italian and enduring the evolution of scientific research on the matter, we would like you to appreciate them as an updated reference even though not exhaustive of the arguments forwarded.
